The island forms part of Gamla Stan, the old town, and houses a number of private palaces dating from the 17th century. I was extremely lucky being able to take this shot. I came to Edinburgh for just a few nights during very unstable weather. I almost gave up trying to take a picture of castle during late evening walk around the city and then I realized that Moon is slowly appearing from behind it. This was really nice moment I have enjoyed despite cold, rain and wind :-)

This is part of a candle holder which I have received from my friend in UK a couple of years ago. It is so beautiful that I decided to snap a picture of it. Additionally another friend this time from Sweden hinted me about great Photoshop plug-in called Nikon Color Efex Pro which I have used to enhance my original photo (Polaroid Transfer filter). June 6 became the Swedish national day in 1983 and was previously known as
Swedish flag day. It marks the coronation of Gustav Vasa in 1523 and the
adoption of a new constitution in 1809. But the Swedish Riksdag (parliament)
only designated June 6 a public holiday in 2005 to encourage people to celebrate
being Swedish.

I spent a good few hours today and on Saturday trying to first collect and then position and shoot dandelions. Especially moving them to the studio proves to be very difficult task. I finally figured out that boxes to keep spaghetti in the kitchen are very good to move dandelions around :-). There is no way to carry them in your hand since even smallest wind can destroy your subject...

I took this photos during morning walk with my daughter today. We were privileged to have wonderful weather during this week. Temperatures jumped to about 15-17C and one can really feel that Spring has started in Stockholm! Next week we have a long weekend with a lot of photo opportunities (1st of May demonstrations and Walborg) so I really hope the great weather continuous into May!

This week I went to Bangkok and I have to say this visit left me with mixed opinions about the city. On one hand architecture is great and there is a lot of places to see in and around Bangkok. People also seem to be friendly, BUT on the other hand there is this feeling all around you that absolutely everyone you deal with (taxi drivers, waitresses and even sometime hotel staff) wants to rip you off. After a few days I was really tired of bargaining and arguing. So if you end up in Bangkok be prepared for a lot of tough pricing discussions!

I am actually very happy with this photo! It took me a few shots to get horizon straight but I think it was worth trying different settings. Finally the one which worked the best were:

Exposure: 30 sec

FNumber: 22

ISO setting: 200

I made some adjustments with Pain Shop but they are really marginal. To take this shot I used Nikon D50 set on tripod at Bonkokubashi bridge located walking distance from Minatomirai 22 area. Photo was taken right after dusk during winter time (January).

Tokyo Tower Photo Session

Inspired by photos of Tokyo Tower seen on internet I decided to take some by myself. Tokyo Tower is located in Minato Ward (Central Tokyo) and it is easily accessible from e.g. Kamiyacho station. Tower is 333m high (compared to 320 of Eiffell Tower in Paris) and currently holds the record of being world tallest self supporting steel structure. Another place worth visiting if you are there is Zojoji Temple located across the street from this massive structure.

Shibuya - New gallery added

Shibuya - most busy place in Japan I know off. It is actually shocking to see for the first time masses of people around you when standing close to the entrance to Shibuya JR station. I don't think I will ever forgot this sight!
For me it is also a frequent shopping destination, BicCamera (electornics), TowerRecords (CD/books) and many other interesting shops can be found here.
